Disney Half Marathon

I ran in my first half marathon on January 20, 2013. It was a really good experience for me to do. I was impressed by the effect of mind over matter. In my training I had not ran the whole 13.1 miles, so doing that the day of the run was a lot of fun! I had to be at the race by 4:00 am. Tyler and Addi even got up to watch me run. They were up at 5:00 am. It was so nice to run and see them in the crowd. They are my biggest supporters and I love them. The course was set up through Disneyland Park, California Adventure, Downtown Disney area and Downtown Anaheim. I was put in a slower corral as I hadn't ever ran before, that did slow me down from time to time, but overall an accomplishment.

Addi wanted me to hold her after I finished running 13.1 miles.

My time... Not as good as I had wanted, but as you can see running with almost 12,000 people as not easy.

Happy New Year

2013 is in full force and I realized that I haven't posted anything since July... I have so much to catch up on. Another post - possibly. Anyway, we are excited for this year. Lots going on. I am participating in my first 1/2 marathon in January in Disneyland. I chose Disneyland because I love the feeling I get everytime I go to Disney as well as the fact that we can turn it into a fun long weekend and turn it into a tiny vacation! We haven't had one in a while, so this is a perfect opportunity. We are also excited for Tyler's business venture to get started. He has teamed up with another guy and purchased a gourmet food truck. We are working through some legal stuff now, but are confident to be up and running soon. There are a lot of steps and codes and we want to make sure we do everything right in the beginning!

We were able to have some family pictures taken the first part of December by my dear friend Stephanie Tobler! She is so sweet for doing this for us. I appreciate her kindness. She helped us out for a bit last year with taking care of Addi for a few hours every couple of days while Tyler worked out a better schedule at work. She is a dear and a life saver.

Happy New Year!
